What is Elephant Memories, LLC?
Elephant
Memories, LLC is a refreshingly unique take on the conventional
record label and tour management company. At its core is a vision of socially
responsible hip hop, influenced by revolutionaries of the past, to be a
leading voice in the present and an inspirational movement for the future.
Its guiding spirit is made manifest by the never-ending desire to help build
a world that is more globally compassionate and aware than its current state.
To that end, countless hours are spent refining and perfecting business
practices conducive to beneficial collaboration with corporations, charities,
promoters, record labels, and media personnel. This, above all else, ensures
the aspirations of Elephant Memories become reality.
In 2007, Elephant Memories spearheaded the national Save
Darfur Tour: a musical movement to raise funds and awareness to help the
victims of the ongoing Sudanese genocide. Operating wholly independently,
Elephant Memories co-branded with the Save Darfur Coalition and secured
exclusive corporate partnerships with Toyota Scion, Playboy Enterprises,
Bebo.com, Hallett & Associates, Chapman University’s Schweitzer Foundation,
and eMusic.com. Their generosity covered the expenses of the tour, and allowed
the Save Darfur Tour to become a reality. Each of these sponsors received
exposure to thousands of fans through promotion and marketing methods that
will be carried over and expanded upon to the American Beauty Tour.
The Save Darfur Tour spanned from Chicago to Los Angeles, and many places
in between, and featured some of the best that independent hip hop offers.
As a result of the tour’s success, the Save Darfur Coalition received increased
visibility in the public eye, thousands of concert attendees became aware
of the genocide in Darfur, and scores of citizens took action to supply
aid and relief to the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
Elephant Memories continues to build upon the experience
of the Save Darfur Tour, improving on every aspect of the process to make
certain the American Beauty Tour is as successful as possible for all involved.
